Research

My research interests are in the political economy of international money and finance, the UK and the US, global financial centres, central banking, and theories of institutionalism.

My most recent book focuses on the post-World War II role of the UK and the US in shaping financial globalization. Before this, I wrote a book on the current crisis of globalization. My other work has examined the transformation of economic policy in the UK since the financial crisis and the UK’s role in the internationalization of China’s currency.

I am currently beginning a new project on the political economy of climate change, examining the impact of Anthropocentric climate shifts upon different dimensions of the relationship between private finance and the state.
